The NAIDOC Poster Competition closes next month, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists over the age of 13 are encouraged to submit their artwork before Monday 21 March 2016 for your chance to win $5,000 and have your artwork displayed across Australia in workplaces, schools and community organisations to promote NAIDOC Week 2016.

Your artwork should reflect this year’s theme – Songlines: The living narrative of our nation.

For Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, the Dreamtime describes a time when the earth, people and animals were created by our ancestral spiritual beings. They created the rivers, lakes, plants, living creatures and land-forms.

Dreaming tracks are sometimes called ‘Songlines’ which record the travels of these ancestral spirits who ‘sung’ the land into life.

Looking forward to seeing a winning entry from our place!
